A PTSD evaluation is recommended when a patient has experienced a traumatic event and is exhibiting symptoms such as intrusive memories, flashbacks, nightmares, avoidance behaviors, hyperarousal, or significant distress that interferes with daily functioning.
Results of an PTSD Evaluation
A PTSD evaluation guides individualized treatment planning, including recommendations for therapy, medication, or other necessary interventions. Findings from this evaluation may also be used to support applications for disability benefits, including those available to veterans.
